Speeding DUI Driver in Sacramento Fatal Crash ID’d as Alan Reyes, 19
SACRAMENTO, CA (May 15, 2021) – Authorities detained Alan Reyes after a DUI crash that killed one person in Sacramento.
The California Highway Patrol determined that the 19-year-old Roseville man was under the influence of alcohol when the fatal wreck occurred on Saturday.
The incident happened when Alan Reyes was driving a Chevrolet Silverado at a high rate of speed north in the slow lane of Highway 99 in Sacramento.
He then drifted to the right as he approached slower moving traffic, just south of Florin Road. CHP said the pickup truck then slammed into a sign and a chain-link fence off the shoulder.

Alan Reyes swerved back onto the road and crashed into the center divider. His passenger ended up thrown from their car as a result of the collision.
A Honda Odyssey going north approached and collided head-on with Chevrolet. The driver of the van, a 31-year-old Sacramento man, died as a result of the collision.
A short time later, a Nissan Murano veered to avoid the crash but struck the center divider and the ejected passenger from the truck. The passenger suffered life-threatening injuries following the accident.
Reyes sustained moderate injuries. Medical personnel rushed them to a hospital for treatment. CBS Sacramento and F0x 40 News wrote that the wreck took place on May 15 at around 1:49 a.m.
Meanwhile, CHP soon arrested Reyes on suspicion of DUI and vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. The tragic Sacramento DUI crash is still under investigation.
