WESTMINSTER, Calif. (June 25, 2024) — A 54-year-old Alaskan man riding a bicycle died in a car accident Friday morning at 20th Street and Beach Boulevard in Westminster.

The deadly crash occurred at around 5 a.m. on June 21st, just south of the Garden Grove 22 Freeway, according to the Westminster Police Department and a report by bikinginla.

The victim, who authorities say is from Alaska, was hit by a driver in a Lincoln Town car while riding in traffic lanes, according to CBS News.

The Orange County Fire Authority sent paramedics who pronounced the unidentified man dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the driver stopped and called 911 for help. Investigators are working on the case, but so far there are no arrests and alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors.
