Albany Car Accident Interstate 80, Eastshore Freeway, Central Avenue

3-Vehicle Crash on I-80 in Albany, CA

ALBANY, Calif. (July 21, 2023) — A multi-vehicle Albany car accident happened Friday morning on the Interstate 80 Freeway also known as the Eastshore Freeway.

The collision occurred around 9:27 a.m. on July 21st in the westbound lanes of the I-80, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials reported the drivers of a yellow Hummer, a blue Toyota Prius and a grey 4-door sedan were involved and blocking the middle lanes of the freeway. It’s unknown at this time what led up to the Albany accident on the Interstate 80.

However, at least one person suffered injuries. Paramedics responded to help the person, but there were no serious injuries from the accident.

The vehicles were not moveable and required tow trucks.

Finally, the roadway reopened to traffic roughly an hour later.
