Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-80 Freeway in Albany Area
ALBANY, Calif. (April 30, 2021) — An Albany car accident on the Interstate 80 Freeway happened Friday morning involving multiple vehicles.
The crash happened at 8:40 a.m. on April 30th on the freeway between Buchanan Street and Central Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The drivers involved include a white Nissan, a silver Eco Van, a green BMW G3, a gray sedan and a white truck. The van suffered major front-end damage and became stuck together with another vehicle. Police issued a SigAlert about 9 a.m. due to the vehicles blocking the roadway.
Albany Car Accident on Interstate 80 Freeway
One person in the van suffered undisclosed injuries. The Albany Fire Department and an ambulance responded, but there were no further details.
Meanwhile, investigators seek to determine cause for the crash and liability.
A tow truck removed the van from the scene due to heavy damage.
