LOS ANGELES, California (August 15, 2017) — Albert Arnold, 57, of Los Angeles has been identified as the bicyclist killed early Saturday morning in a hit-and-run crash at Broadway and 87th Place, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner.

The fatal bicycle accident was reported about 2:30 a.m. as Arnold attempted to cross eastbound in the northbound lanes of Broadway.

The Los Angeles Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating the suspected hit-and-run motorist who fled the scene without stopping to help the victim.  Arnold died of his injuries at the scene of the collision.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a late-model, dark-colored Chevrolet Tahoe SUV and the driver is a “heavyset black man.”

Witnesses or anyone with information about the fatal crash are asked to contact the LAPD’s South Traffic Division at (323) 421-2500.

Fatal Crash Investigation

Police are piecing together what led to this hit-and-run crash and are seeking to locate the suspect driver who fled. A reward of up to $50,000 is usually offered to help police identify the suspect. Investigators will make every effort to calculate what caused the wreck by gathering evidence and speaking to any witnesses.
