1 Dead, Several Hurt in Collision at Betteravia and Philbric Road
Santa Maria, CA (May 5, 2022) – Alberto Gonzalez-Lopez, a 44-year-old man, died following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of Betteravia and Philbric Road.
The KSBY News reported Gonzalez-Lopez was a passenger in a Honda Civic traveling in the streets of Santa Maria. According to the article published online, the sedan collided with a semi truck at the intersection of East Betteravia and Philbric. The catastrophic incident took place on May 2 at about 6:35 a.m.

When emergency crews arrived at the site, they found a male party unconscious in the left rear passenger side of the Honda. Paramedics performed life-saving measures to the victim but he sadly succumbed to his injuries and passed away. The Santa Barbara County Coroner’s Bureau later identified the deceased as Alberto Gonzalez-Lopez, of Santa Maria.
Meanwhile, officials mentioned two other parties in the Civic; and the operator of the semi truck, all sustained injuries as a result of the wreck. Medical personnel transported the three patients to the hospital for further treatment and evaluation.
Detectives handling the case continue to investigate the precise cause of the horrible crash at Betteravia and Philbric Road.
