Alberto Lopez, 21, ID’d as Suspect in Ceres DUI Hit-and-Run Crash on Bernice Drive
CERES, CA (January 15, 2022) – Authorities detained Alberto Lopez after a DUI hit-and-run crash on Bernice Drive in Ceres.
Police determined that the 21-year-old Modesto man was under the influence of alcohol when the wreck took place last week on Wednesday.
The incident began when Alberto Lopez was driving a gray-colored Honda Accord on Bernice Drive in Ceres. Police said he then struck another car in the 1500 block of the road.
At least two occupants of the victim vehicle ended hurt as a result of the accident. Paramedics arrived at the scene and then treated the patients who sustained unspecified injuries.
2 Injured in Wreck
The Ceres Courier wrote that the accident occurred on January 5 at about 2:57 p.m. The report did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that Alberto Lopez did not stop to help and fled the area. They found the Honda abandoned in the 1900 block of Herndon Road in the Lazy Wheels Mobile Home Park.
Police soon located and arrested Alberto Lopez on charges of hit-and-run causing injury and DUI. They booked him into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
The Ceres DUI hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
