Alejandro Gonzalez-Santana, 18, Killed in Crash at Freeport Boulevard and McAllister Avenue
SACRAMENTO (September 15, 2018) – A young driver was killed after a traffic collision in the area of Freeport Boulevard and McAllister Avenue Friday, according to The Sacramento Bee and FOX 40 News.
The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Alejandro Gonzalez-Santana, of Sacramento.
As per the reports, police said Gonzalez-Santana was driving a car when he was struck by another vehicle near the intersection of Freeport Boulevard and McAllister Avenue.
Suspected Street Racing Crash at Freeport and McAllister
Gonzalez-Santana’s became fully engulfed in flames upon impact. He died as a result of the crash which was reported at around 4:15 p.m.
Police affirmed that Sacramento man was arrested in connection with the fatal wreck. The suspect, 32-year-old Avenesh Mal was reportedly booked into the Sacramento County Jail for vehicular manslaughter.
Meanwhile, officials are looking into the possibility that the motorist who hit Gonzalez-Santana was street racing at the time of the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
