Pasadena Man Killed in Crash with Truck on 210 Freeway Identified
SYLMAR, Calif. (May 18, 2020) — Alejandro Madrid, 39, of Pasadena, died Thursday night in a crash with a semi-truck on the eastbound Foothill (210) Freeway in Sylmar.
The Pasadena man was driving a 2012 Cadillac when the two vehicles collided and the car caught on fire.
Police closed down the freeway where the crash took place to investigate the cause of the collision.
The traffic accident was reported at 10:55 a.m. near the Polk Street exit, according to the California Highway Patrol.
When officers arrived, the 2012 Cadillac the victim was driving had caught fire and he had died from his injuries, the CHP said.
Police are reviewing the evidence to determine the cause of the accident. It’s unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor.
