Teen Bicyclist Hit by SUV on Pine Drive in Arnold
Arnold, Calif. (Jan. 4, 2024) – Alexander Rejkowski, 18, was seriously injured in a car accident while riding a bicycle last Wednesday, Dec. 27th on Pine Drive near Highway 4 in Arnold.
Just two days after Christmas, a driver struck the 18-year-old Arnold resident as he rode northbound on Pine Drive.
The San Andreas CHP responded to the crash scene at around 3 p.m. on Dec. 27th, according to an article written by My Mother Lode.
Alexander Rejkowski was struck by a 2001 Suzuki Grand Vitara SUV as it was traveling south on Pine Drive. Driver, Philip Zweigle, 73, of Arnold, struck the victim with the front passenger side of the SUV.
Paramedics responded and transported the injured bicyclist to a hospital for treatment of moderate injuries from the collision.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the bicycle accident on Pine Drive, but so far they do not suspect drugs and or alcohol were factors.
