Alexandra Kazas, 26, ID’d as Suspect in South Lake Tahoe DUI Crash
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CA (October 28, 2022) – Officers detained Alexandra Kazas after a DUI crash in South Lake Tahoe.
Police determined that the 26-year-old woman was under the influence of alcohol when the wreck took place on Sunday.
The incident happened when Alexandra Kazas was driving near Park and Manzanita avenues in South Lake Tahoe. At the same time, two people were riding electric scooters in the area.
Police said she then slammed into the scooters at the intersection. The Tahoe Daily Tribune wrote that the accident occurred on October 23 shortly after 1 a.m.
Scooter Riders Hit and Injured by Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found both riders hurt. The victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel rushed the wounded parties to a hospital for treatment. The report did not disclose the names of the patients and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, the blood alcohol concentration of Alexandra Kazas tested 0.13, nearly double the legal limit following the crash. Police arrested and booked her in lieu of a $75,000 bail.
Officers soon released Alexandra Kazas, of South Lake Tahoe, who faces felony DUI causing bodily injury charges. The South Lake Tahoe DUI crash is still under investigation.
