Alexandra Tamez, 32, Critically Injured in San Francisco Hit-and-Run Crash
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (March 3, 2022) – A hit-and-run crash critically injured Alexandra Tamez near 3rd Street and Fairfax Avenue in San Francisco.
Police identified the 32-year-old San Francisco man as the victim in the collision which took place last month on February 11.
The incident happened when Alexandra Tamez was riding a bicycle in the Bayview neighborhood of San Francisco. For an unknown reason, a vehicle struck her.
Police said the driver hit the bicyclist near the intersection of 3rd Street and Fairfax Avenue. The KTVU News wrote that the accident at about 12:35 a.m.
Driver Hits Bicyclist, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then found the cyclist down on the ground. She sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon took the rider to a hospital for treatment of a traumatic brain injury, a fractured jaw and ribs.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to help the bicyclist and fled southbound on 3rd Street. They described the car as a 2013 – 2016 black Nissan Altima.
The sedan obtained damage to its front bumper on the passenger side after hitting the bike. Officers are still searching for the hit-and-run driver who left Alexandra Tamez in the roadway.
The cause of the San Francisco hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
