Alexandriah Sae Lim, 19, Badly Injured After Colliding With Cattle in Middle of Road
DATE OF COLLISION: Tuesday, August 28th
August 30, 2018- According to the Times-Standard, Alexandriah Sae Lim, 19, of Fortuna, was injured earlier this week after colliding with two cows that wandered from its owner’s property and into the middle of the road.
Authorities confirmed the collision took place just after 8:00 p.m. on southbound Highway 101 at Loleta Drive.
19-Year-Old Victim Transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital
The 19-year-old girl suffered major injuries as she was rushed by ambulance to St. Joseph’s Hospital located in Eureka.
Per the Times-Standard, one of the two cows did not survive the impact as several citizens who either lived in the area or were drivers traveling along Highway 101 assisted in moving the deceased cow from off the road.
Cows Were Able to Escape Through Fence Opening
While no details have been provided on the owner of the cattle, preliminary investigations have revealed the cows were able to escape via an opening in the fence of the property, said CHP officers present at the scene and handling the ongoing investigation.
No further information has been disclosed thus far.
