Pickup Hit Tractor on Floral Avenue
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (Sept. 4, 2024) – Alionso Jimenez Perez, 72, of Selma, died after a pickup truck crashed into the back of his farming tractor Monday night in Fresno County.
The Fresno County Coroner’s Office identified the Selma man.
The traffic accident occurred at 8:15 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 2nd, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Alionso Perez was reportedly driving a farm tractor in the eastbound lanes of Floral Avenue toward Temperance Avenue.
Meanwhile, a driver in a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck was traveling behind the tractor and crashed into the vehicle. The driver of the tractor was thrown off his vehicle onto the dirt shoulder of the roadway and suffered major injuries.
Paramedics transported Alionso Jimenez Perez to the hospital where he later died.
The driver from the Toyota was not hurt and cooperated with the investigation.
The CHP does not suspect drugs or alcohol were factors in this collision.
