Bicyclist Struck on State Route 88 in Mesa Vista Area
ALPINE COUNTY, Calif. (Sept. 20, 2024) — A bicycle accident happened Friday on Carson Pass Highway 88 in the Mesa Vista area of Alpine County.
The major-injury collision occurred at 11:06 a.m. on Sept. 20th, near Foothill Road and Diamond Valley Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a driver struck the bicyclist who went down in the roadway and suffered a head injury.
Paramedics responded with an ambulance to transport the injured rider to Carson Valley Health Hospital in Nevada for further treatment of major injuries.
Meanwhile, the report stated there was no vehicle description, but a semi-truck may have been involved and may have continued driving.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the bicycle accident on Highway 88.
