Woman Killed in 105 Freeway Crash in Willowbrook
WILLOWBROOK, Calif. (Jan. 4, 2021) – Alyssa Mendoza, 21, of Duarte, was killed in a collision on the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway in Willowbrook.
The crash was reported at 10:51 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3rd on the eastbound Glenn Anderson Freeway at Wilmington Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The 21-year-old Duarte woman was driving a compact SUV when she collided with a big rig and a wall. The vehicle overturned and she suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene, the CHP reported.
Meanwhile, the truck driver involved was not hurt in the collision. The name of the motorist was not released.
A SigAlert was issued after police closed down the Nos. 2, 3 and 4 lanes of the eastbound Glenn Anderson Freeway. Investigators are reviewing evidence and witness statements to determine what led up to the collision. Later, the traffic lanes were reopened at 1:30 a.m.
