Amalia Contreras Hernandez, 52, ID’d as Suspect in Napa DUI Hit-and-Run Crash
NAPA, CA (October 7, 2021) – Authorities detained Amalia Contreras Hernandez after a DUI hit-and-run crash in Napa.
Police determined that 52-year-old Napa man was under the influence of alcohol when the wreck took place on Tuesday.
The incident began when Amalia Contreras Hernandez was driving east on Yount Street in Napa. At the same time, another car was going south on Main Street.
Police said Amalia Contreras Hernandez ran a stop sign at the intersection of Yount and Main streets. She then struck the other vehicle.

The Napa Valley Register wrote that the accident accident on October 5 at about 6:34 p.m. The driver of the southbound car sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and provided treatment to the victim. Officials did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that Amalia Contreras Hernandez did not stop to help and fled southbound. She left her car and ran into a backyard in the 1800 block of Main Street.
Officers located the suspect and took her to the Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center. Authorities soon arrested Amalia Contreras Hernandez on felony DUI causing injury.
They booked her at the Napa County jail on felony allegation of leaving the scene of an injury accident. The Napa DUI hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
