Woman, 30, Injured in Car Accident at Highway 29 and Napa Junction
AMERICAN CANYON (October 24, 2018) – A woman was hospitalized after a traffic collision in the area of Highway 29 and Napa Junction Road on Wednesday morning, according to Napa Valley Register.
The accident involving two vehicles took place at approximately 8 a.m.
As per the article, police said the 30-year-old Napa woman headed south on Highway 29 was waiting for a green arrow to turn left at Napa Junction Road when when the rear of her GMC Yukon was struck by a Chevy Suburban.
Man, 55, Airlifted After Crash on Highway 29
The driver of the Suburban, a 55-year-old Vallejo man, allegedly fell asleep in the southbound fast lane. He then swerved left and ultimately rear-ended the Yukon. Both cars came to a rest in the middle of the intersection.
Police affirmed that the woman was taken by ground ambulance to Queen of the Valley with complaint of pain. A 5-year-old child riding in the back seat of her car was unharmed.
Meanwhile, the man driving the Chevy was extricated from his car and was flown to the hospital with serious injuries. His female passenger was not hurt.
The names of the two patients were not disclosed. The incident is still under investigation.
