Father, Child Injured in Hit-and-Run at Highway 29 and American Canyon Road

AMERICAN CANYON, CA (April 14, 2021) – A father and his child were hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash at Highway 29 and American Canyon Road.

According to an article published by the Napa Valley Register, the accident occurred on Monday morning. Officers reported the wreck shortly before 11 a.m.

The incident happened on April 12 when a sedan going north on Highway 29 made a left turn onto westbound American Canyon Road. The car ran a red light at the intersection.

Driver Clips Motorcycle, Flees Scene

Police said the driver then clipped a father and his child who were riding a motorcycle at the time. Both victims, wearing their helmets, spilled to the pavement in the process.

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene. They found the motorcycle riders who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel then took them to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Officials did not release their names and condition at this time.

Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid and fled the area. Officers blocked Highway 29 and American Canyon Road following the crash.

Authorities are still searching for the hit-and-run suspect.
