Amparo Garcia, 78, Killed in Solo Crash at Pierce and Foothill
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Dec. 27, 2018) – Amparo Garcia, 78, died when a car she was riding in crashed into a block wall at Pierce Street and Foothill Boulevard.
The collision was reported at 3:15 p.m. Police stated that Garcia was a passenger in the vehicle. The driver suffered unspecified injuries in the collision and both occupants were hospitalized following the collision. Unfortunately, Garcia later died at the hospital due major injuries.
The initial investigation into the crash has indicated that a floor mat may have got stuck underneath the gas pedal, preventing the driver prevented the driver from stopping the car in time.

At this time, a full review of the facts is under investigation by police. There have been some vehicles equipped with defective floor mats that may cause a traffic accident and in some cases those vehicles were recalled.
