VALENCIA, California (October 25, 2016) —Ana Galvan, 9, of Santa Clarita was killed Monday night when she allegedly ran out of a city transit bus and was struck by oncoming traffic at Wiley Canyon and Orchard Village roads, according to the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station.
The fatal pedestrian accident took place about 7 p.m. Police say the child was traveling with her parents on the bus, but as she exited she darted into northbound lanes on Orchard Village Road and then across the southbound lanes. She was struck by an oncoming vehicle in the No. 2 lane. The driver stopped and was cooperative with police.
A sheriff’s deputy and a nurse were passing by the scene and stopped to help the girl by performing CPR.
The injured child was transported to the hospital where she later died.
