 Ana Ortega Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Clinton Avenue in Sanger

FRESNO, Calif. (April 19, 2023) — Ana Ortega, 51, of Sanger, and her dog, both died Wednesday in a pedestrian accident on Clinton Avenue in north Sanger, Fresno County.

An off-duty Clovis police officer struck the victim and her dog around 8 a.m., according to ABC 30 News.

The woman was walking her dog in the roadway when the oncoming truck struck them both, but there are no further details at this time.

Woman Killed in Crash on Clinton Avenue

The police officer stopped his vehicle and performed CPR on Ana Ortega, but paramedics took over upon their arrival at the scene.

Sadly the woman and her dog both died at the scene. The Fresno County Sheriff Coroner released her name later the same day.

Authorities are investigating the crash to determine fault, but at this time drugs and alcohol are not considered factors in the pedestrian accident on Clinton Avenue.

The California Highway Patrol is heading up the investigation.
