1 Killed, 7 Injured in Galt Crash at Twin Cities Road
GALT, Calif. (February 8, 2022) – Ana Julia Polanco Lopez, 29, of Stockton, died one week ago in a fatal crash at Twin Cities Road and Cherokee Lane in Galt.
The two-vehicle crash happened about 3:16 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 1st at the Galt intersection, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff Coroner.
It’s unknown at this time what led up to two motorists colliding at the intersection.
The Cosumnes Fire Department responded and located two vehicle occupants who were ejected from a minivan. Both people were critically injured in the collision and transported to local trauma centers. Sadly, Ana Julia Polanco Lopez later died at the hospital.
Firefighters and paramedics treated and or transported a total of eight people hurt in the crash.
Meanwhile, CHP closed down the intersection at Twin Cities and Cherokee due to the wreck.
The cause of the Galt crash is still under investigation.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault. At this time, authorities do not suspect alcohol and drugs are factors.
