Suspected Hit-and-Run Collision Near Brookhurst Street Thursday
Anaheim, CA (December 21, 2021) – A traffic accident that occurred in the area of Interstate 5 and Brookhurst Street resulted in injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch.
Earlier reports indicated two vehicles collided on the northbound lanes of I-5, also known as Santa Ana Freeway. Officials said a black sedan careened off the roadway, and came to a rest along the highway near Brookhurst Street. The black Hyundai Aura reportedly sustained major front-end damage due to the force from the impact.
Shortly after 7:25 p.m., emergency teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics rendered aid to all possible victims in the crash. The CHP log confirmed at least one person suffered injuries as a result of the wreck. Personal information on the injured party have not been discussed thus far.
Meanwhile, investigators mentioned one driver involved in the mishap fled the scene. Detectives continue to determine several factors surrounding the hit-and-run crash on Interstate 5 in Anaheim.
