Man, 26, Killed in Anaheim Hills Crash on 91 Freeway Near 241 Toll Road
ANAHEIM HILLS, CA (August 20, 2021) – A man was killed after a crash on the 91 Freeway in Anaheim Hills.
According to an article published by The Orange County Register, the tragic accident occurred on Thursday. It happened in the evening of August 19.
The incident began when a car broke down for an unknown reason in Anaheim Hills. Its driver, a 26-year-old Long Beach man, pulled over to the median just west of the 241 toll road.
He and his two passengers tried to cross the westbound lanes of the 91 Freeway to the shoulder. In the process, a vehicle struck the 26-year-old man.
Victim Hit by Several Vehicles
The California Highway Patrol said several other motorists then hit the pedestrian. Meanwhile, his two passengers successfully crossed the lanes.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and confirmed that the victim died as a result of the collision. His name remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the first driver who hit the man failed to stop and fled the area. The suspect vehicle possibly sustained moderate, or major, front-end damage.
The cause of the fatal Anaheim Hills crash is still under investigation.
