
Woman Killed, 3 Injured in Pedestrian Accidents on Harbor Blvd. in Anaheim
ANAHEIM, Calif. (Jan. 8, 2024) — A hit-and-run driver fled a series of collisions including two involving pedestrians Friday night on Harbor Boulevard in Anaheim.
One of the crashes injured three people on Harbor Boulevard and another was a fatal crash near the Anaheim Convention Center.
The separate collisions occurred on Friday, January 5th, according to the Orange County Register. A man driving a tan or gold Toyota sedan, similar to a Toyota Camry or Corolla, struck a total of four pedestrians, a transit bus and two other vehicles.
Pedestrian Accident Harbor Boulevard
The first collision happened when the driver struck three pedestrians including woman and child walking in a crosswalk on Harbor Boulevard. The suspect reportedly struck an OCTA bus, an SUV and a pickup as he fled the scene and then continued traveling down Harbor Boulevard. As he approached Convention Way, the suspect struck a woman in the roadway. Paramedics transported the last woman to a hospital where she later died from her injuries. Her name and age have not been released.
Meanwhile, the suspect also fled this collision without stopping to help the victim.
Police Searching for Suspect
Police are searching for the suspect who was described only as a man wearing a yellow shirt and blue shorts. A witness told reporters he approached the suspect’s vehicle and knocked on the window, but was nearly run over when the motorist fled. That’s when the driver backed up into a bus, hit an SUV and a pickup truck before fleeing towards Convention Way, police said.
Finally, the investigation into the Anaheim accident on Harbor Boulevard is ongoing.
