1 Hospitalized After Multi-Vehicle Collision on 91 Freeway Thursday
Anaheim, CA (April 8, 2021) – At least one person suffered injuries following a suspected DUI car crash on 91 Freeway early Thursday, according to the Orange County Register.
Earlier reports indicated a Mercedes-Benz heading west on the freeway veered into the opposite traffic lanes. Due to the alleged intoxication of the driver, the Mercedes-Benz travelled west in the eastbound lanes around 12:20 a.m.
When the wrong-way vehicle approached the area near Lemon Street, it eventually crashed head-on into a big rig.
Our sources indicated the Mercedes-Benz also truck two other vehicles at some point while traveling in the wrong direction on the Anaheim highway. Authorities determined a man in one of the vehicles sustained injuries as a result of the crash. Responding paramedics rendered aid to the victim, then transferred them to a hospital for further evaluation.
Meanwhile, officials mentioned the driver of the Mercedes-Benz and the big rig both appeared unharmed after the collision.
DUI Suspect Arrested in Anaheim Injury Car Accident, April 8
Police later confirmed the man behind the wheel of the Mercedes-Benz was drunk at the time of the accident. For this reason, authorities arrested the man on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Additional details on the crash remained undisclosed. Further investigation on the case is underway.
