19 Children Hospitalized After Car Crash at Balls Ferry Road and Martha Street Thursday
Anderson, CA (March 3, 2022) – Several people, including 19 children, suffered injuries following a car accident that occurred on the corner of Balls Ferry Road and Martha Street.
Vehicle Plows Into Great Adventures Preschool and Daycare in Anderson, March 3
The KRCR News reported a fully-occupied Suzuki SUV plowed through the Great Adventures Preschool and Daycare. The crash took place Thursday shortly before 2:30 p.m.
When emergency crews arrived at the location, they immediately rendered aid to the 21 occupants in the Suzuki SUV. The article published online confirmed all 19 juveniles sustained injuries as a result of the collision. Per local news sources, 14 of the children were transported to the hospital by ambulances. Meanwhile, the parents of the other five kids personally drove them to the hospital.
The Mercy Medical Center in Redding confirmed they treated nine patients in their facility. In addition, the Saint Elizabeth’s Community Hospital in Red Bluff said they attended to three other patients.
Authorities reportedly declared a Mass Causality Incident due to the number of people injured in the crash.
At this time, detectives continue to work to determine the precise cause of the car accident at Great Adventures Preschool and Daycare.
