Woman Killed in Sherman Oaks Hit-and-run Pedestrian Accident
SHERMAN OAKS, Calif. (April 1, 2022) – Andrea Ortega, 52, died in a Sherman Oaks pedestrian accident early Thursday on the southbound Ventura (101) Freeway at the San Diego (405) Freeway exchange.
The CHP reported the deadly hit-and-run crash happened near the Sepulveda Pass in Sherman Oaks.
The crash happened just before 4:16 a.m. on March 31st at the freeway interchange, according to the California Highway Patrol. Police located the victim later identified as Andrea Ortega in the roadway suffering major injuries. Paramedics with the Los Angeles Fire Department also responded, but were unable to save Andrea Ortega. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver drove away without stopping to render aid, according to CHP. Police did not release a description of the vehicle or suspect.
The Sherman Oaks accident remains under investigation.
