Andrea Salinas, 39, Killed in San Diego Crash on State Route 52 and Regents Road
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 4, 2022) – Andrea Salinas was killed after a car crash on State Route 52 in San Diego.
The Medical Examiner’s Office identified the 39-year-old San Diego woman as the victim of the fatal wreck which took place on Monday.
The incident happened when Andrea Zerlina Salinas was driving a Hyundai Elantra north on Regents Road toward the eastbound state Route 52 on-ramp in San Diego.
Man, 45, Seriously Injured in Wreck
At the same time, a Toyota Camry was exiting the freeway onto Regents. For an unknown reason, the Toyota failed to stop and drove over a divider in the intersection.
In the process, the Camry slammed into the Hyundai. The San Diego Union-Tribune and FOX 5 News wrote that the accident occurred on October 3 at around 8:49 a.m. near Clairemont and University City.
Police said Andrea Salinas died as a result of the crash. The driver of the Toyota, a 45-year-old man, sustained serious injuries due to the impact of the collision.
Paramedics rushed him to a hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, police forced the Regents Road on-ramp and off-ramp to shut down for several hours following the wreck.
The cause of the San Diego crash is still under investigation.
