Fatal in Hit-and-Run Crash at California Drive and Oak Grove Avenue
Burlingame, CA (October 5, 2022) – Andree Peterson, a 58-year-old San Jose resident, died at a hospital following a pedestrian accident that occurred in the area of California Drive and Oak Grove Avenue.
The Daily Journal News reported Peterson, and a 63-year-old man were both walking in a crosswalk at the intersection in Burlingame. Officials said a motorist heading south on California Drive drove straight through a green light at the intersection in Oak Grove Avenue. The vehicle reportedly struck the two people walking against a red signal.
Deadly Pedestrian Accident in Burlingame
According to the article published online, the crash resulted in injuries to the two pedestrians. Paramedics arrived at the site shortly after 10:34 p.m. and rendered aid to the victims. Emergency crews rushed the patients to a hospital, where the 58-year-old man sadly passed away. The San Mateo County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as Andree Peterson.
Authorities added the other victim received treatment for major injuries. Personal information on the injured party remained undisclosed pending confirmation.
Meanwhile, our source mentioned the driver left the scene after the incident. When the motorist returned, police arrested and booked them into the county jail for felony hit-and-run.
