Andres Castaneda, 26, Suspect in Turlock DUI Crash Near Golden State and Griffith
TURLOCK, CA (July 18, 2021) – Andres Castaneda was arrested after a DUI crash near Golden State Boulevard and Griffith Avenue in Turlock.
The California Highway Patrol determined that the 26-year-old Planada man was under the influence when the wreck took place on Saturday night.
The incident began when Andres Castaneda was driving a black Honda Accord at a high rate of speed south on Golden State Boulevard in Turlock.
CHP said he failed to slow down and then struck the rear of a 2007 silver Chevrolet Silverado. The two crashed near the intersection with Griffith Avenue.
2 Adults, 2 Children Victims in Car Crash
The man driving the pickup, a woman, a 1-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy ended up injured as a result of the collision. The boy suffered facial lacerations and head injuries.
An air ambulance took him to the Madera Children’s Hospital for treatment. The other victims sustained minor wounds following the wreck.
The Merced Sun Star and Merced GW News wrote that the accident occurred on July 17 at about 8:38 p.m. Meanwhile, CHP found Andres Castaneda with major injuries after the Turlock crash.
A helicopter flew him to the Memorial Medical Center in Modesto. Authorities soon arrested Andres Castaneda for DUI. The Turlock DUI crash is still under investigation.
