Andres Gomez Osornio, 15, Killed in Pocket Bike Accident in Shafter

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Sept. 18, 2026) — Andres Gomez Osornio, 15, of Shafter, died on Wednesday following a crash with a vehicle while riding a pocket bike at Shafter Avenue and Riverside Street in Shafter.

The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified the teenager as the boy who was struck by a vehicle around 9:04 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.

The cause of the fatal collision remains under investigation to determine fault.
