Andres Ortiz Suspect in Car Accident on North McDowell Boulevard
Petaluma, CA (May 21, 2021) – Police officials arrested 56-year-old Andres Ortiz, of Rohnert Park, in relation with a traffic collision that occurred on North McDowell Boulevard.
On May 18, Tuesday, a car crash took place in the 1100 block of North McDowell Boulevard in Petaluma.
The Patch News reported Andres Ortiz was behind the wheel of a Honda traveling at an unknown direction on McDowell. Preliminary investigation revealed the Honda collided with a vehicle making a turn on the roadway.
DUI Hit-and-Run Crash in Petaluma, May 18
Following the collision, the Honda driver, later identified as Andres Ortiz, exited his car and fled the scene. Responding officers later spotted the hit-and-run suspect in the 1000 block of Rand Street. Police then arrested Andres Ortiz, who apparently displayed signs of alcohol impairment.
Meanwhile, no immediate information was available on the driver of the vehicle struck by the suspect.
Further investigation on the DUI hit-and-run car crash in Petaluma is ongoing.
