SAN JOSE, California (December 25, 2016) – Andrew Nguyen, 14, was killed and his parents were hospitalized after an alleged DUI crash on Capitol Expressway early Sunday morning, according to Mercury News.
Alcohol may have played a role in the accident which was reported about 12:28 a.m. near Snell Avenue.
As per the article, police said a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu was going west on Capitol Expressway when its driver crossed over the center median.
The Malibu then crashed head-on into a silver 2004 Lexus carrying the San Jose family of three including the teenage boy.
Police affirmed that all the parties involved were immediately taken to the hospital, where the 14-year-old boy was later pronounced dead. His mother and father suffered injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Meanwhile the suspected drunk driver has been identified as 25-year-old Jessica Marie Zamora of San Jose. She was taken to hospital where she died of her injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
