Andrew Walton, 55, Killed in Modesto Hit-and-Run Crash on McHenry Avenue

MODESTO, CA (August 12, 2021) – Andrew Walton was killed after a hit-and-run crash on McHenry Avenue in Modesto.

Police identified the 55-year-old man as the victim of the fatal collision which occurred on Sunday.

The incident happened when Andrew Walton was riding a bicycle on McHenry Avenue in Modesto. At the same time, a vehicle was going south.

Modesto police said the car then struck Andrew Walton for an unknown reason in the center turning lane of the road.

Bicyclist Hit by Car

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene, south of Sylvan Avenue and north of Leveland Lane. They then found the bicyclist left lying on the ground as a result of the accident.

Medical personnel soon rushed Andrew Walton to a Modesto hospital, where he died. The Modesto Bee wrote that the accident took place on August 8 at around 9 p.m.

Meanwhile, the driver stopped for a moment and pulled into a parking lot by the Wienerschnitzel restaurant on the east side of the road. The motorist fled north on McHenry behind the business, the KFC and the Bank of America.

Officers described the car as a white pickup truck. The Modesto hit-and-run crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the police at 209-342-6105.
