 Angel Sextos ID'd Fatal Crash Long Beach 710 Freeway

3 Teens Identified as Crash Victims

LONG BEACH, Calif. (June 27, 2023) – Angel Gabriel Sextos, 18, of Long Beach, is the latest to be identified among the five people who died in a crash on the Long Beach (710) Freeway.

George Dobbs, 15, and Ariahh Slemaker, 15, both from Long Beach, were also identified earlier today by the Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner.

The driver and five passengers of a dark-colored Hyundai Sonata sedan reportedly crashed into an attenuator around 4:12 a.m. on Sunday, June 26th, according to the California Highway Patrol. A witness who caught the crash on their dashcam video, told investigators the vehicle sped past them just before the crash.

Deadly Crash on I-5 Freeway Near 91 Freeway

Some of the occupants were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected from the vehicle. One male occupant survived the collision with major injuries, according to KTLA 5 News.

The collision occurred just south of the transition to the Artesia (91) Freeway, the report said. Also, the vehicle was struck by at least two other vehicles and the car burst into flames, the report said. The car became fully engulfed in flames.

The traffic accident occurred on the the northbound Long Beach Freeway.

A bystander grabbed a fire extinguisher and ran to try and put out the fire. Sadly, five of the six people in the car died at the scene.

Police issued a SigAlert and closed down all northbound lanes of the 710 Freeway.

The investigation into the deadly crash is ongoing.
