Richard Thomas, 72, Injured in San Jacinto Car Accident
SAN JACINTO (October 28, 2018) – Angelica Huaste, 23, was arrested on DUI charges following a crash that injured an elderly man.
The crash took place at the Ramona Expressway and State Street on Saturday afternoon, according to NBC Los Angeles.
Richard Thomas, 72, of Yucaipa, was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.
The Riverside County sheriff’s department reported that Thomas tried to make a left turn from northbound State Street to westbound Ramona Expressway when his car was struck by the suspected DUI driver’s vehicle.
Angelica Huaste had been traveling eastbound on Ramona Expressway when she entered the intersection and hit Thomas’ vehicle. There was major damage to both vehicles.
Thomas was transported to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
Meanwhile, Huaste reportedly obvious signs of intoxication and was arrested for suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol. The San Jacinto woman was later booked into custody at the Cois Byrd Detention Center.
