ANGELS CAMPS (September 9, 2016)- According to California Highway Patrol, Nancy Cooper, 82, and Donald Cooper, 75, were injured in a crash caused by a DUI driver Thursday afternoon.
The incident occurred took place on Highway 4 near Borbe Road.
The dispatched report disclosed that Elizabeth Simberlund, 40, was the driver of a 2006 Honda headed westbound before allowing her vehicle to cross into oncoming traffic directly into the vehicle occupied by Nancy and Donald Cooper.
The Cooper’s were inside of a Ford vehicle which incurred moderate injuries to both victims. They were both transported to local area hospitals.
The report added that Simberlund was injured and transported by ambulance to Memorial Medical Center. She was later arrested as it was confirmed that she had been driving her vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
No further details were mentioned in the report.
