Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 38 in San Bernardino County
SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif. (June 24, 2020) — At least one person is dead and another injured after a head-on crash Wednesday morning on Highway 38 in Angelus Oaks.
The collision took place about 1:13 p.m., just east of Camp Cedar Falls between a white Toyota RAV4 SUV or minivan and a white Hyundai. The driver in the Hyundai had been traveling behind a motor home and another vehicle on the winding highway when they attempted to pass the slower-moving vehicles and crashed head-on into the SUV or minivan, according to the California Highway Patrol report.
The driver of the Hyundai was trapped inside the vehicle after the crash, police said.
One of the vehicles caught on fire and was smoking after the collision.
Paramedics responded and rushed two people to Loma Linda Medical Center. One person suffered fatal injuries after the crash.
The CHP is heading up the investigation into the collision.
