Angie Thao, 24, ID’d as Suspect in Fresno Fatal DUI Crash at Jensen and Marks
FRESNO, CA (July 2, 2022) – Authorities detained Angie Thao after a fatal DUI crash at Jensen and Marks avenues in Fresno.
The California Highway Patrol determined that the 24-year-old Fresno woman was under the influence of alcohol when the collision occurred on Saturday.
The incident began when Angie Thao was driving a white 2002 Acura RSX north on Marks Avenue, approaching Jensen Avenue, in Fresno.
CHP said he then ran the stop sign at the intersection and went directly into the path of a black 2013 Nissan truck. In the process, his car struck the Nissan.
1 Killed, 3 Injured in Wreck
The Fresno Bee and ABC 30 News wrote that the wreck took place shortly before 4 a.m. A front seat passenger in the Acura, a 38-year-old man, died as a result of the accident.
Angie Thao ended up suffering from major injuries following the crash. Paramedics rushed her to the Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The driver of the truck, a 39-year-old Fresno man, and her passenger, a 34-year-old Fresno woman, survived with minor injuries.
A third occupant in the Nissan, a 15-year-old boy, did not sustain any injury. The names of the deceased and wounded victim have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, CHP soon arrested Angie Thao on suspicion of DUI and manslaughter. The Fresno DUI crash is still under investigation.
