
Woman Arrested for Death of Oscar Montoya, 51, in Hit-and-Run Crash
SAN PEDRO, Calif. (March 15, 2023) — Anisha Lockhart, 27, was arrested on last Thursday on hit-and-run charges for the death of man riding a bicycle who she allegedly struck on Pacific Avenue in San Pedro.
The deadly crash occurred about 12:40 a.m. on March 4th, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Oscar Montoya, 51, died at the scene of the hit-and-run bicycle accident, just south of Channel Street, the LAPD said.
Anisha Lockhart was allegedly driving at a high rate of speed when she struck the man from behind and killed him, but she continued driving without stopping to help him, MyNewsLA reports.
Police headed up an investigation into the crime and with help from citizens in the community. They were able to locate the woman’s 2009 Scion XB. She was subsequently arrested and charged with felony hit-and-run. Authorities booked her into jail in lieu of $100,00 bail, police said. She is scheduled to appear in court on April 7th in downtown Los Angeles.
