Woman, 73, Struck on Highway 49 and 88
JACKSON, Calif. (Nov. 4, 2021) – Ann Harkey, 73, died in a pedestrian accident Wednesday morning at Highway 49 and Highway 88 in Jackson.
The collision happened about 9:15 a.m. on Nov. 3rd, according to the Ledger Dispatch News.
Tyler Alexander Harrison was driving a 2019 Kenworth truck traveling on Highway 49. The truck was negotiating a right turn from Highway 88 onto northbound Highway 49, the report said. At the same time, Ann Harkey stepped into the crosswalk in front of the truck.
Officials said the truck driver was unable to avoid hitting the pedestrian.
Deadly Pedestrian Accident in Jackson
Paramedics located the victim lying on the ground. They performed life-saving measures to the woman, but she sadly succumbed to her injuries and died.
Investigators continue to work at this time to determine liability in the fatal pedestrian accident at Highway 49 and 88 in Jackson.
