Pedestrian Injured in Antelope Hit-and-Run at Walerga Road and Loop Boulevard
ANTELOPE, CA (May 20, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash injured a pedestrian at Walerga Road and Loop Boulevard in Antelope.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident occurred late Thursday night. Officers reported the collision at about 10:08 p.m.
The incident happened when a female pedestrian was crossing at the intersection of Walerga Road and North Loop Boulevard. She was in a crosswalk at the time.
Victim Hit by Car Near School
CHP said for an unknown reason, a vehicle struck her. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene near the Antelope Meadows Elementary School.
Medical personnel then found the victim hurt and sitting on the sidewalk as a result of the crash. They provided treatment to the patient for the unspecified injuries she sustained in the collision.
Officials did not disclose her name and condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver involved did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the area.
Officers forced the intersection of Walerga and Loop to close following the accident. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the Antelope hit-and-run crash.
