1 Killed, 7 Injured in Antelope Valley Crash at 170th Street West and Highway 138
ANTELOPE VALLEY, CA (September 17, 2022) – A crash killed one person and injured several others at 170th Street West and Highway 138 in Antelope Valley.
The incident began when a black Audi was going south on 178th Street West, approaching Highway 138, in Antelope Valley. At the same time, a Chrysler Town & Country was traveling east on the highway.
For an unknown reason, the Audi ran a red light at the intersection. The California Highway Patrol said in the process, the car slammed into the minivan carrying eight people.
Driver Runs Red Light, Hits Another Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene. The seven occupants of the van and the driver of the Audi ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
One victim sustained critical injuries while four others suffered severe injuries. Air ambulances flew them hospitals for treatment.
A ground ambulance rushed two more patients with moderate injuries. A CHP dispatch reported that one individual soon died.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, officers forced the area of 170th Street West and Highway 138 to shut down for hours following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Antelope Valley crash is still under investigation.
