Boy, 14, Identified as Crash Victim in Indio
INDIO, Calif. (Sept. 5, 2024) — A 14-year-old boy, identified as Anthony Alvarado Lemus, died over the Labor Day holiday weekend in an Indio car accident.
The multi-vehicle crash occurred at 5:23 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 2nd, according to the Indio Police Department.
The fatal collision happened at the Indio Boulevard and Fargo Street intersection.
Three vehicles including a sedan and two SUVs were involved.
The boy was traveling as a passenger in the sedan and suffered major injuries before he passed away at the scene.
The drivers of the vehicles were all taken to a hospital with moderate to serious injuries.
The child’s family has a Gofundme page to cover costs of his funeral expenses.
Witnesses to the fatal collision are urged to call the Indio Police Dept. or Valley Crime Stoppers anonymously at 760-341-7867.
