Motorcyclist Killed in Crash Involving SUV in El Cajon
SAN DIEGO COUNTY, Calif. (Jan. 17, 2025) — Anthony Patrick Crum, 41, died Sunday afternoon in an El Cajon motorcycle crash involving a suspected DUI driver on East Main Street.
The traffic accident occurred at around 4:12 p.m. on Jan. 12th, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner.
The El Cajon man was riding westbound on a Suzuki motorcycle with his juvenile daughter as a passenger when the bike collided with an SUV.
The driver in the 2004 Chevrolet Suburban SUV had been traveling eastbound on Main Street before making a left turn toward Orlando Street when the two vehicles collided.
Witnesses called 911 to report the collision and paramedics responded and confirmed the man’s death just 10 minutes after the crash.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the injured child who had been riding on the back of the bike to Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego.
Investigators believe that the 37-year-old driver of the SUV was under the influence of an undisclosed type of drug and arrested her following the crash.
She was booked into Las Colinas women’s jail in Santee. The El Cajon Police Department is heading up the investigation.
