DUI Driver Anthony Irace, 28, Kills Passenger in Roseville Crash
ROSEVILLE, CA (April 5, 2021) – Authorities detained Anthony Irace after a fatal DUI crash along Woodcreek Oaks Boulevard in Roseville.
Police determined that the 28-year-old Folsom man was under the influence of a controlled substance when the wreck occurred on Sunday.
The incident happened on April 1 when Anthony Irace was driving north on Woodcreek Oaks Boulevard in Roseville. He was traveling between Jonquil Drive and Horncastle Avenue at the time.
Police said Anthony Irace then drifted into the center median and slammed into a tree. His car rolled over and landed upside-down in the southbound lanes of Woodcreek.
Car Hits Tree, Overturns on Woodcreek Oaks Boulevard
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and rushed Irace and his passenger for treatment. Irace sustained less severe injuries as a result of the collision.
The other patient suffered life-threatening injuries and later died at the hospital. The name of the deceased victim has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
The Sacramento Bee and FOX 40 News reported the accident at around 3:20 p.m. Officers closed both directions of Woodcreek Oaks for several hours following the Roseville crash.
Meanwhile, police arrested Irace on suspicion of murder and DUI and booked him into a Placer County jail. They added that he is ineligible for bail due to a parole violation.
