Anthony Limpert, 35, Possible Suspect in Moreno Valley Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash

MORENO VALLEY, CA (May 16, 2021) – Authorities detained Anthony Limpert after a fatal hit-and-run crash in Moreno Valley.

The sheriff’s department believed that the 35-year-old Moreno Valley man was involved in a collision that killed a pedestrian on February 13.

The incident happened when 37-year-old Jose Manuel Garcia was crossing Perris Boulevard, south of the intersection with Fir Avenue, in Moreno Valley.

At the same time, a 2-door Pontiac Grand Am was traveling at a high rate of speed north on Perris. The speeding driver then struck the Moreno Valley pedestrian.

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found Jose Manuel Garcia left lying on the ground as a result of the collision. They pronounced him dead at the scene.

The Press Enterprise and NBC Los Angeles wrote that the crash occurred at about 11:57 p.m. Meanwhile, the suspect and a purple Scion XB pulled over following the collision.

Police affirmed that both motorists continued and fled eastbound on Fir. They found the Pontiac at the home in the 13700 block of Stockbrook Road.

Authorities soon arrested Anthony Limpert and 28-year-old Alania Limpert on unrelated charges. They will file additional charges against Anthony Limpert for his involvement in the hit-and-run.

Deputies booked him for allegedly manufacturing a controlled substance, child endangerment and being a felon in possession of a firearm. They also detained him for committing a felony while out on bail in a previous case.

Officers booked Alania Limpert on suspicion of manufacturing a controlled substance and child endangerment. They held both suspects on $1 million bail.
