Anthony Say, 28, IDd as Suspect in Long Beach DUI Crash
LONG BEACH, CA (February 12, 2023) – Authorities detained Anthony Say after a DUI crash that injured a police officer in Long Beach.
Police determined that the 28-year-old Long Beach man was under the influence of alcohol when the wreck took place on Friday.
The incident began when Anthony Roy Say was driving a black sedan near West Ocean Boulevard and Magnolia Avenue in the city.
At the same time, an on-duty Long Beach police officer was traveling in the area. Police said Anthony Say then struck the passenger’s side of the patrol car.
Police Officer Injured in Wreck
The Long Beach Post wrote that the two vehicles crashed near the intersection. The collision occurred on February 10 at around 9:48 p.m.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and found the officer hurt. He sustained minor non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the accident.
Medical personnel rushed the patient to a hospital for further aid. The name of the wounded victim and his condition at this time were not released.
The report added that the suspect was in possession of a gun when the wreck occurred. Officers arrested Anthony Say for DUI and carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle following the crash.
They soon booked the suspect in lieu of a $100,000 bail. The Long Beach DUI crash is still under investigation.
